Arrive at Istanbul Airport and transfer to the hotel. If you arrive in Istanbul early, we offer you an optional half-day tour for the afternoon. The Spice Bazaar, Rüstempaşa Mosque and a Bosphorus cruise. It is a very colourful market with an oriental atmosphere, offering a variety of spices, desserts, and nuts. Afterwards, we’ll drive to Golden Horn for a boat tour along the amazing Bosphorus Strait, which separates Europe and Asia and connects the Black Sea with the inland Marmara Sea. We'll return to the hotel at the end of the boat tour.

After breakfast, we’ll start our Istanbul tour with your guide. Visit St. Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the Hippodrome Square.
Hagia Sophia has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. Hagia Sophia Cathedral, the magnificent Church of the Holy Wisdom, was built in 537 AD as an Eastern Orthodox cathedral by the Emperor Justinian of the Byzantine Empire.
Afterwards, we will visit the legendary Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Mosque), famous for its blue Iznik tiles and unique six minarets. We stroll around the Hippodrome Square.
Hippodrome Square was the centre of chariot races and political and sporting events during the Byzantine period. Today, we see the remnants of its glorious past, such as the Serpent Column, the Theodosius Obelisk, the German Fountain, and the Sultan Ahmet Tomb.
The Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum displays the world's richest collections of Islamic art, including rare manuscripts, calligraphy, carpets, woodwork, metalwork, and ethnographic artefacts spanning from the earliest periods of Islam to the Ottoman era.
Transfer to Istanbul Airport and fly to Izmir. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Kuşadası.

Today, we’ll immerse ourselves in the history of ancient Ephesus,20 km from Kusadasi.
Ephesus has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2015. The ancient capital of Asia Minor is one of the best-preserved ancient Greek and Roman cities in the world. It is home to the Temple of Hadrian, the marvellous Celsus Library, the Temple of Trajan, the Grand Theatre (25.000 seats), the Agora, the Gymnasium, and the Terrace House (entrance extra). Visit the Ephesus Museum.
The Temple of Artemis is regarded as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It was destroyed by strong earthquakes and remained underground.
Hand-woven carpet weaving is a long-standing tradition in Turkey. In a carpet village, we will learn how carpets are handwoven and the factors that determine their value.
At the end of the tour, we will take a short break for souvenir shopping.

After breakfast, we will drive to Pamukkale to explore the ancient city of Hierapolis and the travertine terraces.
We will enjoy a display of locally handcrafted leather goods before heading toward Pamukkale, a distance of 200 Km.
Pamukkale is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the magnificent white calcium terraces, known as Travertines, in Pamukkale. We also tour the ancient city of Hierapolis, where we will see the Gate of Domitian, the Arcadian Street, the ancient 2nd-century Roman Theatre, the Nymphaion, the Temple of Apollo, the Plutonium, and the Necropolis. We will pass through the Roman Gate, admire the ancient Pamukkale Theatre, and walk around the grave monuments built to honour heroes. Afterwards, we will have a relaxing walk on the travertine terraces and have a chance to swim in the Ancient Cleopatra Pools (extra cost).

Today, we will start our tour with a visit to the Underground City and the Göreme Open Air Museum, home to a large monastery complex with dozens of monasteries, each with its own church, offering some of the best examples of Byzantine art. The churches carved into the rock feature paintings and frescoes from the tenth to the thirteenth century, whose colours retain freshness. Next visit is Kaymaklı Underground City.
Kaymakli Underground City is one of Cappadocia’s most fascinating subterranean cities. Explore its tunnels, living quarters, storage rooms, and ventilation systems, which early Christians used for shelter. These underground cities in Cappadocia were used as defences against attacks from the Romans, Persians, and Arabs, as storehouses and for living.

After breakfast, we will depart early for Ankara (approx. 330 km), Turkey's capital. On arrival, we will see Anıtkabir, also known as the Mausoleum of Atatürk, the final resting place of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the leader of the Turkish War of Independence and the founder of the Republic of Turkey. After this visit, we’ll have time to lunch in a local restaurant and depart for Istanbul by vehicle (approx. 440 km).
