Overnight stay in Minu Hotel in Fethiye. (Dinner)
After breakfast, we will begin our walk from the hotel to the magnificent Amyntas King Tombs. The tomb's entrance fee is 2 EUR and is optional.
We’ll take an ancient stone road that connects Fethiye (historically known as Megri-Telmessos) to Kayaköy (formerly Levissi-Karmylassos). This route was traditionally used to board ships during the population exchange between Turkey and Greece in 1923-24. Kayaköy, with its tragic history, was mentioned by the famous author Louis de Bernières in his book "Birds Without Wings." The village was evacuated entirely when its inhabitants migrated to Greece, leaving behind a quiet ghost town in its untouched state. As you explore Kayaköy, it will be hard not to feel the sorrow of those who were displaced from their homes.
After our visit, we will return to our hotel for an overnight stay and enjoy a swimming and lunch break. Those who feel too tired to continue walking or prefer to rest in the afternoon can stay at the hotel. The hiking distance in the morning is 9 km, with 500 m uphill and 300 m downhill. After a refreshing break, those who wish to continue hiking will embark on a 30-minute climb to enjoy panoramic views of Kayaköy from a hilltop. We will continue our journey, accompanied by stunning views of Fethiye Bay.
On our descent to Ölüdeniz, there will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the magnificent coastline views. At the end of our walk, we will have the chance to dip in the Mediterranean's deep blue waters and relax on the warm pebbles of Ölüdeniz (Belcekız) beach. If you prefer not to walk back to the hotel at the end of the day, public minibuses can transport you back to our hotel in Kayaköy.
