ITINERARY
Early departure from Istanbul Port or Hotel to Istanbul Airport, and Flight to Kayseri or Nevşehir Airport. Upon arrival, your guide will welcome you at the airport. Start your tour visit to Pasabagı Valley’s fantastic fairy chimneys.
Paşabağı Valley is home to the most magnificent fairy chimneys of Cappadocia. Paşabağı fairy chimneys, located in a specially protected area, can be reached by walking 300 meters from the entrance gate. Some of the mushroom-shaped rock formations here are several meters high. Fairy chimneys, shaped by erosion over many years, were used as homes by various religious groups. Therefore, it is also known as the Monks Valley.
Devrent Valley is renowned for its rock formations that resemble various animal figures. You can see the camel easily, but you may need to use your imagination to see others, such as dolphins, seals, Napoleon's hat, kissing birds, the Virgin Mary, and various reptilian forms.
The Göreme Open-air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site, features rock-cut churches and monastic complexes. This UNESCO World Heritage site is essential for the Cappadocia daily tour. The Göreme Open-Air Museum is home to striking fairy chimneys, grand monasteries, and chapels, including the Dark Church, Apple Church, Snake Church, and Saint Barbara Church. You will see the scenery and figures from the Old and New Testaments on well-preserved frescoes from the iconoclastic period at Göreme Open-Air Museum, Cappadocia, Turkey.
We have a lunch break at a local restaurant. Afterwards, visit Uchisar and Pigeon Valley.
Uçhisar Castle, situated at the highest hill of Cappadocia, is shaped by flowing volcanic lava. At Uchisar Castle, you learn from your guide how this fantastic landscape came into existence. After visiting the Uchisar Castle panorama, we will proceed to the Pigeon Valley and the Göreme Open-Air Museum.
Pigeon Valley is named after the wild pigeons that live in the region, nesting in the volcanic rocks. The farmers in the region carve these rocks into unique nests for pigeons, then collect the pigeon manure and use it in agriculture. Pigeon Valley in Cappadocia creates a spiritually relaxing and peaceful atmosphere for visitors, offering a magnificent view that can be enjoyed from various vantage points.
At the end of the tour, if you have enough time, you can visit a Pottery Workshop demonstration in Avanos.
The town of Avanos is situated on the banks of the Kızılırmak, and it is renowned for producing pottery from the red clay mud that emerges from the river.
Ceramic artisans of the Hittite period, around 2000 BCE, continued to produce iconic pottery and ceramic designs that would be treasured for generations to come. From $2 to $20,000, the magnificent, handcrafted, and one-of-a-kind, eye-catching works of art are truly fascinating.
Transferred to Nevşehir or Kayseri airport at the end of the tour.
