Hippodrome Square

This is where horse races occurred, and entertainment, sports, and political activities were organized during the Roman and Byzantine periods. Here, we will see the Serpent Column from Delphi in Greece, the Egyptian Obelisk, the German Fountain of Wilhelm ll, and the tombs of Ottoman sultans and princes.

Saint Sophia

Hagia Sophia, meaning the church of “holy wisdom,” was built by the emperor Justinian in 532 - 537. Originally designed and built as a church, it was later converted into a mosque in the Ottoman period and became a museum. It is accepted as one of the world’s greatest architectural works and a common heritage of mankind.

Blue Mosque

Blue Mosque, known as Sultanahmet Mosque, is Istanbul's most splendid Ottoman mosque. It was built between 1609 and 1617 by Sedefkar Mehmet Effendi, the Architect, and commissioned by the Ottoman Sultan Ahmed I. Best known for its six minarets and blue Iznik tiles, which lend the mosque its name, today it is one of the leading icons of the Istanbul skyline.

Grand Bazaar

The Grand Bazaar is the oldest and largest covered bazaar in the world, Grand Bazaar (Kapalı Çarşı) is made up of 61 covered streets and is home to more than 4000 shops selling anything you can think of from carpets, jewellery, leather, and souvenirs to garments, bags, decorations, spices, and home textiles in an exotic and unique atmosphere, always bustling with locals and tourists.

Topkapı Palace

Topkapi Palace has served as the administrative centre of the Ottoman Empire for over 400 years, from the 15th to the 19th centuries. As the home of the Sultans and their families, Topkapı Palace is a great complex surrounded by massive walls. It hosts an outstanding collection of famous jewels of the Ottoman Imperial Treasury, daggers decorated with precious diamonds and stones, swords, war armours, the Spoonmaker's Diamond, crystals, silver items, Chinese porcelain, elegant dresses once used by sultans and their families members and the sacred relics such as Prophet Muhammad's cloak known as Hırka-i Sherif.
* The Treasury and Harem sections are included in the program.
