Cappadocia Green tour itinerary
The Ihlara Valley Cappadocia tour itinerary will continue according to the following schedule.
Pickup from your hotel is approximately 09:30 – 10:00 am.
Goreme Panoramic Viewpoint
One of the most famous viewpoints in Cappadocia is the Göreme Panoramic View Point. From this vantage point, visitors can enjoy a mesmerising view, relax, and engage in warm conversations with fellow tourists from many countries.
At the Göreme panoramic viewpoint, you can witness the beauty of Cappadocia, including stunning sunrises and sunsets. You can also enjoy heartfelt conversations with friends while marvelling at the beauty of the Cappadocia valleys and the colourful balloons soaring into the sky amidst the silhouettes of fairy chimneys.
Kaymaklı Underground City
Kaymaklı underground city in Cappadocia has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1985. Kaymaklı Underground City, which is believed to be the oldest underground city in Cappadocia, features a maze of narrow tunnels and rooms carved eight levels deep into the earth. Today, only four floors are open to visitors. It is estimated that people have been living inside houses built on rocks since the Palaeolithic Period. However, we know they were mainly used to protect against Roman, Persian, and Arab attacks. They were also used as storehouses.
Note: If you are claustrophobic, it is helpful to know that the tunnels of Derinkuyu are narrower and lower than those of Kaymaklı, the other underground city.
Ihlara valley
Ihlara Valley, Cappadocia, is one of the largest canyons in the world, spanning 14 kilometres in length, with depths of up to 120 metres, and featuring a diverse array of habitats. Known as the Ihlara Valley in the Güzelyurt district of Aksaray, the Ihlara Valley canyon is an extraordinary place among the canyons worldwide. We walk through the scenic Ihlara Valley,
The Ihlara Canyon differs from other canyons worldwide because it is one of the most important centres of culture and civilisation. It has many churches and shelters easily excavated from the rocks surrounding the valley, and houses are still used as living spaces. The most crucial point is that Ihlara Valley is the common heritage of the world's people.
After the Ihlara Canyon tour, we visit the Selime monastery.
Selime Monastery
The Selime monastery is the most significant rock religious structure in Cappadocia. Inside the abbey were monks' quarters, a large kitchen, a towering chimney, and even an animal shelter and barn. In the middle is a church carved into Tuff rocks, divided into two rows of columns, after visiting ancient rock-cut churches at Selime Monastery.
Lunch break in a restaurant, delicious traditional Turkish cuisine.
Pigeon Valley
Pigeon Valley is named after the wild pigeons that inhabit the region and build nests in the volcanic rocks. Farmers in the region carve these rocks and make unique nests for the pigeons. Then, they collect the accumulated pigeon manure and use it in agriculture.
Güvercinlik Valley, Cappadocia's magnificent view, which can be seen from many places, creates a spiritually relaxing and peaceful effect on visitors.
Onyx Workshop Visit (Precious stones display)
Cappadocia onyx workshops are primarily family-owned and passed down from father to son. It will be an exciting experience to witness a demonstration of how precious stones and hard stones, such as onyx, are processed, shaped into a single piece, polished, and transformed into treasured objects. It can be a suitable choice for gifts to your loved ones, as it is small, affordable, lightweight, and easy to carry.
