Private Ephesus Biblical Tour

Day         : All year
Duration : 6 - 7 Hours

ITINERARY

Your guide will meet you in Kusadasi Port or at your hotel or Selcuk, then lead your excursion to visit the first place of Virgin Mary House ( today converted to a small chapel ) in Bulbul Mountain as one of the important pilgrimage centres for all Christians. The total number of visits is around 50 minutes, but people who want to spend more time in this peaceful atmosphere may stay longer on request.

St.Mary, entrusted by Christ himself at the crucifixion to Apostle St. John, travelled a long way to reach the frontiers of ancient Ephesus and chose this hill to attend the rest of their life.  Here, Catholics need to be blessed and stated as a pilgrimage zone, not only Pope Paul VI. but also Pope John Paul II. and Pope Benedict XVl. at different times. People are still joining the ceremonies held each Sunday.

Later on, we pass from the generous forest of this beautiful road, arriving at the upper gate of Ephesus to start our long run to observe the glamour ruins of Ancient Ephesus: the Celsus Library, Anthic Theater with a capacity of 25.000, Odeon, Harbor Street (Arcadians Street), the Marble & Curetes Streets, Hercules Gate, Medical Center, Temple of Hadrian, Domitian and more, the Prytaneion, various Monumental Fountains, State Agora and so on.

The Ephesus Church in Revelation is the most important of the Seven Churches in Asia Minor (Anatolia) and became the head of the seven. The Loveless Church (Revelation 2: 1-7), the Gospel of John was thought to be written in Ephesus. Apostle Paul preached to the Ephesians and lived in Ephesians for three years to be accepted as the developer of Christianity in Ephesus, which was concluded to be the third most important city of Christianity after Jerusalem and Antioch.

We have a lunch break in a local restaurant and visit the Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the Ancient World. Finally, we go to St. John's Basilica, built by the Byzantine Emperor Justinianus at Ayasuluk Hill, and the official tour program will end by praying at St. John's tomb in the middle of the basilica.
End of all visits, people who like shopping may have small stops at the carpet weaving centre, leather outlet centre, or ceramic craft shop. Shopping is optional.
The excursion will be completed with our guests' dropping off at their destinations. Kusadasi Port or Hotel.
