Greece and Turkey Beauties - 13 Days/12 Nights

Arrive at Athens Airport, transfer to the hotel, and accommodation at your reserved hotel. You can explore Athens in your free time; may shop in the famous Plaka area and have a drink in the cafes around. Dinner and overnight are in Athens. ( Dinner )

We will start our local Athens tour after breakfast. Probably we can see the authentic uniformed soldiers while changing the guards. We proceed with visiting Kapnikarea Church, Unknown Soldiers’ Grave, Palace of Royalty, and Hadrian’s Arch in Adrianou street than having lunch in an authentic Greek restaurant. Later, we will go to the Athenian Acropolis located on a hill, overlooking the whole city of Athens with the first defense walls by the Ancient Mycenaeans, built in the 13th century. Dinner and overnight are in Athens. ( Breakfast – Dinner )

After breakfast, we will drive to Delphi which is 185 km. away and having been accepted to participate in the Unesco World Heritage list. Located in magnificent geography, Delphi has been the sacred place and religious worship center of the Hellenic World dedicated to Apollo for centuries. In the ancient city of Delphi, you can observe the Temple of Apollo as the God of music, lyrics, and poems with its archaeological concepts, the treasure of the Athenians, Apollo sanctuary, the treasure of the Cyprians, the Kings of Argos, Omphalos (the stone placed in the center of the earth), the Altar of the Chiots Field, Delphi Ancient Theater, Delphi Stadium and thousands of years old masterpieces in Delphi Museum as well.

Following the paths opened by the first monks, churches built on high rocks in Meteora with magnificent views await us.
As soon as we finish breakfast we start to drive to Kalambaka for four hours.  
After having lunch in an authentic restaurant we continue with the Meteora excursion which has been admitted as one of the magnificent sites for Christianity. There are lots of monasteries built on the top of hills around 200-300 m. along 11th century. The reason why they choose such a high location is definitely regarding safety concerns. There are no stairways to up but they contracted a lift system made of woods and thick tethers to elevate people and goods on the top. We are finishing this wonderful excursion visiting Holy Telis (Agia Triada) and Agios Nikolaos Anapafsas Monasteries but also seeing any available Monasteries in this breathtaking geography open at that moment.

Breakfast is over and may travel to Thessaloniki which is 250 km. far to Kalambaka. On the way, the first site to be visited is Verginia; the legendary and holy graveyard of Macedonian Kings. The father of Alexander the Great, King Philip II who led the expansion and development of Greek Territories and Hellenistic Culture in his time was buried here. Arriving in Thessaloniki and lunch in a Greek restaurant. After lunch, we can start to see Thessaloniki with its beautiful monuments and remains as the White Tower of Thessaloniki, Aristotelous Square, St. Sophia Church, Galerius Triumphal Arch, and Byzantium Castle. During St. Paulus's second and third missionary journey, he did missionary work in Thessaloniki and wrote letters to the Thessalonians.

Transfer to Thessaloniki Airport after breakfast then fly to Kayseri or Nevsehir Airport in Turkey. As soon as the passport controls are over, depart to a local restaurant for a lunch break, afterward transfer to a hotel in Cappadocia. You are free all day long in this magical, like movie shooting plateau geography after hotel check-in.
Dinner and overnight are in a Cave Hotel, Cappadocia. ( Breakfast – Dinner )

Time to make a full day visit to Cappadocia as breakfast is over. Primarily visit is to Kaymakli Underground City which was excavated to be protected from enemies especially Roman Soldiers at the first era of Christianity. The observation will be continued to see Goreme Open Air Museum with its fantastic monasteries and chapels like Karanlik Monastry, Elmalı Monastry, Yilanli Monastry, and St. Barbara Monastery. Lunch is in an authentic restaurant. Later on, we will go to Pasabagi Valley including rocks formations similar to mushrooms and a few meters high. The formations also named Fairy Chimneys, concerning the unique shapes have been the corollaries of earth, wind, and rain erosions for long years and have been used as shelters or with religious concepts. That’s why here is called as Valley of Monks (Priests). The next is Devrent Valley with beautiful figures like the animals in nature. We will visit the pottery shop to see how they design the earth with aesthetical concerns and evolution to be turning beautiful ceramics in Avanos Seramic atelier. Those who are curious about traditional Turkish Arts and the influences on Silk Road commerce may visit the Carpet Center of hand knitting rugs.

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Kayseri Airport for your flight to Izmir. Our guide will meet you at the Izmir Airport and you’ll start your tour right away. First, we will drive to Pergamon (95 km), the capital of the Kingdom of Pergamon Kings circa 282-133 BC. Upon arrival, we’ll have lunch in a local restaurant and start our exploration of the area. We will visit the Acropolis, which is the administrative center of the city, the Temple of Zeus, Dionysus, Athena, Demeter, and the famous Pergamon Library of 200,000 rolls. The Altar of Zeus, The Great Theatre of Pergamon here is the world's steepest theater and it could entertain up to 10,000 spectators in ancient times. We will also visit ( extra payment ) the Gymnasium and the Red Basilica (St. John’s Church), which is one of the sites of the Seven Churches of Revelation. At the end of the tour, we will drive to Izmir. Overnight stay in  Izmir or Kusadasi. ( Breakfast – Dinner )

After breakfast, we will head for Ephesus (80 km) and visit the House of the Virgin Mary, which was proclaimed by Pope Paul VI  in 1967 and declared as a place of pilgrimage for Christians by Pope John Paul II. According to the legend, Virgin Mary was brought here by St. John to spend her last years upon the request of Jesus Christ. 
Afterward, we will visit the ancient city of Ephesus. Church of Ephesus was the most important of the Seven Churches of Asia Minor. It is thought that the Gospel of John was written here. 
Ephesus is also one of the best-preserved Greco-Roman ancient cities of the Ionian Region with a population of 250,000. Some of the structures we will see here are as follows: 
Ephesus Theater: It is the second-largest (first is the Colosseum in Italy) and one of the best acoustic amphitheaters in the world with a capacity of 25,000 people. Saint Paul and several priests preached here after the approval of Christianity by the Roman Empire. 
Celsus Library: It is the third-largest library of ancient times, dedicated to the famous Roman consul Celsus. With its magnificent architecture, reliefs, and sculptures it still captures the atmosphere it had 2500 years ago. 
Other structures include the Domitian Temple, Odeon, Medical School, Scholastica Bath (second biggest Roman Bath in Turkey), Love House, Various Monumental Fountains (dedicated to great emperors), Latrines (public toilet), Commercial Agora, Curetes Street, Arcadian Street (Ephesus harbor), and the Terrace Houses (extra charge).
After Ephesus, we will visit the Artemis Temple, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. 
At the end of the tour, depending on your preference, we may make a stop at the carpet weaving center, leather outlets, or ceramic craft shops. We will drive to Pamukkale  ( 225 Km / 3 Hours )  Arrival and accommodation in Pamukkale. (Breakfast – Dinner )

Hierapolis is one of the most magnificent cities in Ionia. During the Hierapolis tour, we will visit the Tomb of the Apostle Philip, who was martyred during the persecutions ordered by Domitian.
Hierapolis ancient city ruins including the Gate of Domitian, the Arcadian Way, Grand Theatre, the Nymphaion, the Temple of Apollo, the Plutonium, and the large Necropolis, Frontinus Gate and Frontinus Street are among the places we will see.
Afterward, we’ll enjoy walking on the famous white travertines in Pamukkale.
We will have lunch in a local restaurant and free time in thermal pools or the Ancient Cleopatra Pool (extra cost). Afterward, we’ll depart for Denizli Çardak Airport or Izmir ADB Airport. Flight to Istanbul, and you transferred to Istanbul hotel.

Istanbul, as being the sole city embracing two continents is too generous to be discovered in a few days but we are in hurry to show you as much as we can. Tour is starting at 09:00 after breakfast with our professional tour guide. At first, we must go to the biggest basilica of Christianity; Hagia Sophia which was built in the 6th century by Emperor Justinianus I. Then we may go to see the Ottoman style in Topkapi Palace that was the training center and home of the Ottoman Empires together with their dynast around 420 years. Lunch is in an authentic restaurant.  The following addresses are Hippodrome Square the popular place for Horse Races in the Byzantium age, Theodosius Obelisk, Serpentine Column, the Graves of Ottomans Sultans and Princess, German Fountain from Wilhelm II. Next is Sultanahmet Mosque ( Blue Mosque ) which is one of the masterpieces by Architect  Sedefkar Mehmet Efendi even known for blue tiles and six minarets. Now time to visit Kapalicarsi (Grand Bazaar) which is one of the oldest and biggest in the world involves 4000 shops from varieties of artistic products such as hand-made goods, jewelry, hand-knitted carpets, garments, leathers & furs.

This morning we have the last chance to see fabulous Cappadocia from our hotel since we must leave for the Istanbul flight after breakfast. Transfer to hotel and check-in are the following processes from arrival to Istanbul. Ready to go to Misir Carsisi (Spice Bazaar) to examine how they are experts on varieties of spices, deserts, dried nuts, and fruits under the ornithic atmosphere of Ottoman times. Lunch is in an authentic restaurant then embark to a nice boat for Bosphorus Cruise. You will see the natural and man-made beauties of Istanbul Strait which is separating European and Asian lands. You are lucky that may observe the matchless landscape of the strait with several waterside mansions, palaces, historical estates, on both sides of the straits. Maiden Tower and Rumeli Fortress (very crucial in the conquest of Constantinapolis) will be the bonus of the cruise.

- For cancellations made 14 – 11 days before the tour, 30% refund.
- No refunds will be made on reservations made 10 days before the tour. %100 Penalty is applied.

Regular Group Tours are English-guided package tours with mixed nationalities of a minimum of 20 people and a maximum of 40 people on the specified dates. Regular Group tour prices are fixed.
There is a child age restriction based on the character of the tour and generally, children under 8 years of age cannot participate.
Private Tours, on the other hand, is between 1 person and 40 people. It usually consists of small and private groups such as Families, groups of friends, or professional groups. No other travelers are allowed in Private groups. In private tours, the guide is given according to the group's request (available in Turkey) 
Guaranty Departure Tours have a definite departure regardless of the number of people on certain dates. 
The minimum and the maximum number of people and child age requirements are specified in the tour information.

The number of tour places varies according to the theme of the tour. Group tours are a minimum of 20 people - a maximum of 40 people. There is no limit on the number of private tours, usually between 1 and 18 people.

You can bring clothes and auxiliary items according to Turkey Tour regions and Tour season. During the winter seasons, you should bring thick and cold protective clothing and rain protective clothing.

Foreigners in Turkey can drive in Turkey, provided that they always have their passports, international driving licenses, and their car licenses with them. It is legally forbidden to drink and drive and there are penalties. In Turkey, the vehicle is driven on the right side of the road.
