Cradle of Civilizations Mesopotamia Tour - 8 Days/7 Nights

Adana city tour;  Our first visit is to the Ulu Mosque, which was built in Seljuk and Mamluk architectural style in 1541, and then we visit the Kazanlar bazaar where you can shop from the local delights, sweets, peas, and sweets produced here. 
The Adana Clock Tower, built with cut stones in 1882 during the Ottoman period, is 32 meters high, and its foundation is 35 meters under sweat. The clock was brought from Germany, and it is still working. We visit Sabancı Mosque and Saint Paul Church (Saint Paul Church) with its 6 minarets and a capacity 28.500. 
Stone Bridge B.C. The Romans built it in the 4th century. It is still in use today, with a length of 310 meters, a width of 11 meters, 14 large arches, and 5 evacuation belts.

Sightseeing moves in Adana centre and Seyhan dam. Drive on to Gaziantep 220 Km. The first stop of our Gaziantep tour will be the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, the second-largest mosaic museum in the world. The archaeology museum has Neolithic, Hittite, and Roman artefacts. The Famous Gypsy Girl mosaic is one of these.

We take a lunch break at a local restaurant to taste delicious food and world-famous Gaziantep Baklava.
Visit Bakırcılar Bazaar, Almacı Bazaar, and Zincirli Bedesten and join the local shopping.  Don’t forget to sample and buy Gaziantep’s famous baklava and pistachios.

After breakfast, drive to Halfeti. (100 km, 1.5 hours) Halfeti district is also known as the hidden paradise of the Southeast for its historical stone houses, black roses, and natural beauty. We will visit Savaşan Village, a large part of which is underwater and called a "sunken city", on a boat tour. We see the Sunken Mosque, the Roman Castle, and Halfeti Neck, and then we go to Urfa (130 km, 1.5 hours).

Sanliurfa is a sacred city known as the city of prophets. According to legend, visit Halil-ur Rahman mosque, Rizvaniye Mosque, Balıklıgöl (fish lake), formed where the Prophet Abraham was thrown into the fire, and Ayn-el Zeliha Lake.

Şanlıurfa, known as the city of prophets, has changed the history of humanity with the discoveries in the archaeological excavations in Taş Tepeler and Gobeklitepe in recent years. Gobeklitepe, dating back 6,000 years before Stonehenge, with its 12,000-year history, overturns standard views on the development of civilisation.
Visit the Sanliurfa Archeology Museum and Haleplibahçe Museum before visiting Gobeklitepe. Because the historical antique artifacts, objects and sculptures exhibited in museums will help you better understand the archaeological history and narratives.
The city of the prophets, including Halil-ur Rahman and Rızvaniye Mosque, Balıklıgöl (fish lake), according to legend, formed in the place where the Prophet Abraham was thrown into the fire, and Ayn-el Zeliha Lake.

The next stop will be Gobeklitepe temple in the Tas Tepeler region. The oldest open-air temple in the world, built 12,000 years ago and dating back to the Neolithic Age, started a new era in world archaeology and even changed human history. Harran district, which has been continuously inhabited since the 6th millennium BC and was once the capital of the Assyrian and Umayyad civilisations, will welcome us with its conical domed houses and historical sights, Konik Harran Houses, Harran Mound, and El Firdevs Mosque, built by Umayyad Caliph Mervan (Cennet Mosque) will be among the places we will see after our Harran trip.

Early departure from Sanliurfa to Mardin  250 Km Arrive at Dara ancient city, visit Dara ruins, the cave tombs, cave houses, colossal water cistern, and ancient city ruins spread over a wide area in the Dara ancient city, which has a 3500-4000 years history. Next stop in Deyrul Zafaran Monastery, the Patriarchate's centre for over 1,000 years, and see the 4,000-year-old Sun Temple hospital, church, and baptistery. Arrive at Mardin.
Mardin has been the shining city of Mesopotamia for centuries. Mardin, whose architectural heritage adorns the slopes in steps with fairy-tale houses elegantly built of stone structures, guides the rich cultural and religious diversity that spreads to every corner.
We designed the tour program so well that we will experience Mardin like locals. Drives from Mardin to Diyarbakır via Midyat 220 Km.  Midyat, founded in the 9th century BC, is famous for its local craftsmanship, stone buildings, and handcrafted silver filigree jewellery local people.

It is an Assyrian Christian town consisting of Muslims, Assyrian Orthodox, Catholics and Protestants. For many years, it was considered the capital of the Tur Abdin region, which was the centre of Assyrian Christianity.
You will find the best examples of filigree art and all kinds of handcrafted silver jewellery, which Syriac masters created with their centuries of experience while visiting the Syriac-Muslim common neighbourhoods. Drive to Diyarbakir, approximately 2 hr. And a lunch break in a Local restaurant at Diyarbakir.
Diyarbakir is one of the most significant cultural cities in southeastern Anatolia. Arrive and visit the old town, Diyarbakir Castel, the city walls, Urfa Gate, Mardin Gate, and Diyarbakır Grand Mosque (Ulu Cami). Hasan Pasha Inn.  We will complete our day by enjoying coffee on the 10-eyed bridge over the Tigris River and the historical ruins in the city wall.

After breakfast, early departure for Nemrut Mountain ( 180 Km) city by crossing the Nissip Bridge on the Atatürk Dam from a beautiful geography panorama (2,5 hours).
We visit the Ancient City of Arsemia, founded in the 3rd century BC and the Commagene civilisation's capital for a while.  Where the tumulus of Antiochos of Commagene King and giant statues are located. This might be the part that will remain in your memories as the most unique place on this tour.
With the narration of our guide, we will admire the rich history. On the way to Mount Nemrut via Kahta, we will see the Karakuş Tumulus and  Roman Cendere Bridge in Arsemia Ancient city and go to the summit by minibus (large buses and minibuses cannot travel this route). After a tiring climb, we will see the Zeus, Apollo, Heracles, I Antiochhos, Commagene, Eagle, and Lion sculptures on the eastern terrace of the Mount Nemrut summit. We will see the tumulus of Antiochos of Commagene King at the top and altars and sculptures on the western terrace. It is impossible not to be impressed by the magnificent view and the beauty of the colossal statues at the top of Mount Nemrut. Sunrise and sunset each have a different beauty. After the Nemrut Mountain tour, drive 80 km to Adiyaman.

Regular Group Tours are English-guided package tours with mixed nationalities of a minimum of 20 people and a maximum of 40 people on the specified dates. Regular Group tour prices are fixed.

The February 6, 2023 earthquake caused great destruction in 6 cities in the Southeastern Anatolia region. In the Great Earthquake, there was significant damage in the Maras, Adiyaman and Hatay provinces. Hatay city centre, towns, and villages were destroyed; 80% of the city was destroyed and damaged.
