Mysteries of Eastern Anatolia - 12 Days

Arrive at Adana Airport, meet the assistant guide, who will be waiting for you, and transfer to the hotel.
Early Arrival we will visit Adana. The main sights we will see in Adana are the Clock Tower built by Ziya Pasha, Kazancılar Bazaar, Adana Ulu Mosque, the Stone Bridge (Taş köprü) on the Seyhan River, and Sabancı Mosque, which has six minarets.

After breakfast drive to Hatay (240 Km) Hatay Archaeological Museum is closed for an indefinite period in the city that was destroyed (% 80 of the city)in the earthquake of February 6, 2024. We will have the chance to see it when it is opened to visitors. Only St. in Hatay. Pierre Church is visited.
St. Pierre Church is known as one of the oldest churches of Christianity, carved into the rocks on Mount Stairus in Antakya. The first Christians in Antakya held their secret meetings here. St. Paul, who came to Antakya with Barnabas, taught Christianity to people in Hatay, and those who believed in the new religion were called "Christians" for the first time in this cave.

Today visit the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, the second-largest mosaic museum in the world. The famous Gypsy Girl Mosaic is exhibited here. Then, there will be free time for shopping and lunch while visiting Bakırcılar Bazaar, Almacı Bazaar, and Zincirli Bedesten. Don’t forget to sample and buy Gaziantep’s famous baklava and pistachios!
Then we will go to Halfeti. (100 km, 1.5 hours) Halfeti district is also known as the hidden paradise of the Southeast for its historical stone houses, black roses, and natural beauty. We will visit Savaşan Village, a large part of which is underwater and called a "sunken city", on a boat tour. We see the Sunken Mosque, the Greek Castle, and Halfeti Neck, take lots of photos, drink coffee by the reservoir, and then go to Urfa (130 km, 1.5 hours). Lunch break on the way.
Sanliurfa is the city of the prophets; visit Halil-ur Rahman and Rızvaniye Mosque, Balıklıgol (fish lake), according to legend formed in the place where the Prophet Abraham was thrown into the fire, and Ayn-el Zeliha Lake. After shopping at Bedesten and Gümrük Inn, we will have lunch at a local restaurant featuring Urfa's famous kebab and other regional dishes. We will also visit Urfa archeology Museum and Haleplibahçe museum.

After breakfast in our hotel in Urfa, we will start our tour of Urfa, the city of the prophets, including.
The next stop will be Gobeklitepe temple, ( located in Taş Tepeler region ) the oldest open-air temple in the world, built 12,000 years ago and dating back to the Neolithic Age, which started a new era in the history of world archeology and even changed human history. As a result of the information provided by our guide about the Gobeklitepe temple, your humanity history information can change.
During the tour, you will feel Göbeklitepe's positive energy in its mystical environment. Visit Karahantepe if available due to Archaeological Excavations.
Afterwards, we will go to Harran and visit its ancient city. Harran district, which has been continuously inhabited since the 6th millennium BC and was once the capital of the Assyrian and Umayyad civilisations, will welcome us with its conical domed houses and historical sights, Konik Harran Houses, Harran Mound, and El Firdevs Mosque, built by Umayyad Caliph Mervan (Cennet Mosque) will be among the places we will see after our Harran trip. We will return to our hotel and attend Urfa's famous Sira night.

After breakfast, we will leave Nemrut Mountain, where the tumulus of Antiochos of Commagene King and giant statues are located. This might be the part that will remain in your memories as the most unique place on this tour. With the narration of our guide, we will admire the rich history. On the way to Mount Nemrut via Kahta, visit Arsemia Ancient city, the summer capital of the Commegena Kings. Karakuş Tumulus for Kommegene king Sister and wife.  Roman Cendere Bridge. Arrive at the summit by minibus (large buses and minibuses cannot travel this route). After a tiring climb, we will see the Zeus, Apollo, Heracles, I Antiochhos, Commagene, Eagle, and Lion sculptures on the eastern terrace of the Nemrut summit. We will visit the tumulus of Antiochos of Commagene King at the top and altars and sculptures on the western terrace. It is impossible not to be impressed by the magnificent view and the beauty of the colossal statues at the top of Mount Nemrut. Sunrise and sunset each have a different beauty in the endless horizon. We will depart for Adıyaman after the Mt. Nemrut tour.

After breakfast, depart for Diyarbakır. Crossing the Nissip Bridge on the Atatürk Dam from the beautiful geography of about 3 hours Diyarbakır has been one of the most important cities of Northern Mesopotamia throughout history, it is the cradle of civilisations where many religions, languages, and cultures have been integrated. 
First, we will visit the 5th Harem-i Sharif of Islam and Diyarbakır Grand Mosque, one of the first mosques in Anatolia. Then we will visit Diyarbakır City Walls on the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List. Coffee break and shopping break in historical Sülüklü Inn.
Later, we will see the Sheikh Muhattar Mosque, built during the Akkoyunlu period and famous for its Four-Legged Minaret. You will be amazed by the minaret's architecture, built on four pillars. 
We will also visit the graves of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad and the Prophet Suleiman Mosque
Lunch break in Batman with delicious traditional meals.
During a short city tour, don't be surprised to encounter a modern city in the East with wide streets and contemporary buildings. After a short trip, we will see the El Rızk Mosque, the Süleyman Pasha mosque minarets, and Zeynel Bey’s tomb, among the historical artefacts that have been moved to the new Hasankeyf.
In Midyat, you will find the best examples of filigree art and all kinds of handcrafted silver jewelry, which Syriac masters created with their centuries of experience while visiting the Syriac-Muslim common neighborhoods. After shopping, we will see the beautiful view from the terrace of Midyat Guest House. 
Visit  Dara ancient city;  the cave tombs, cave houses, colossal water cistern, and ancient city ruins spread over a wide area in the ancient city of Dara, which has a history of 3500-4000 years and is said to be the Ephesus of the East.

After breakfast, we will visit Deyrul Zafaran Monastery, the Patriarchate's centre, for over 1,000 years, and see the 4,000-year-old Sun Temple hospital, church, and baptistery. We will start our tour of Old Mardin with the Kasımiye Madrasah in Mardin, which has a rich cultural mosaic with architectural structures that give a mystical Muslim, Syriac, Turkish, and Arabian atmosphere to this city where religions and languages ​​meet, and continue to the Ulu Mosque and minaret. Mosque Kebir, Şehidiye Madrasa, and PTT House are among the places we will see. During our free time in Mardin, don’t forget to buy extra luggage to take home local products, natural soaps (from Sabuncu Mehmet), nuts, almonds, and Mardin-specific almond candies, dried fruits, sweets, rosaries, and similar handmade accessories, and souvenirs.

After breakfast, our journey from Mardin to Van will take us to several interesting places. We'll stop by the Bitlis city centre for a short tour, head to Tatvan city, and then drive 45 km to Ahlat. The largest Turkish-Islamic cemetery in the world, founded in 1200 by the Seljuks, is located here and boasts 8,169 tombstones, some of which are 3.5 meters long. The inscriptions and decorations on these tombstones make them incredibly unique and worth seeing. After visiting the Grand Vault, Emir Bayindir Mosque, and the tombstones, we will return to Van for dinner and accommodation.

Today's provincial tour will begin at Van Castle, also known as Tuspa Castle, built by Urartu King Sarduri 2800 years ago. The castle, located near Van Lake, became the capital of the Urartu Kingdom under the name Tuspa. We will explore the castle's rock tombs, which belonged to Urartu Kings. Following our visit to the Van Archeology and Ethnography Museum, we will travel to Akdamar Island in Lake Van's Edremit district to admire the stunning stonework of the Turkish state-restored Akdamar Church and watch boats from the pier. Before returning to the city centre, we will take picturesque photos of the lake and mountain scenery. We can visit the Van Cat house to see these beautiful cats up close.

After breakfast, we will visit Muradiye Waterfall, which is 90 km away. After taking beautiful pictures here, we will move on to Doğubeyazıt. We will arrive in Doğu Beyazıt after crossing Tendürek mountain and its stunning views. We will have a short lunch break and visit the famous İshak Pasha Palace. It is said that the construction of the 116-room palace took 99 years. After a tour of this magnificent palace overlooking Mount Ararat, we will arrive in Kars City via Iğdır. After entering the hotel, we will stroll through the streets of Kars and experience a new culture and climate. You can taste local foods such as goose meat, honey, Kars cheese, Kars gruyere cheese, yellowfish, Hengel, and kit, which are unique to Kars, and you can buy them to take home. You can see Russian architecture in Kars and experience the climate, geography, and culture, which is the basis of this fusion.

We will continue our tour by visiting the Ani Ruins. We will go to Sarıkamış, and after seeing historical artefacts such as Manuçehr Mosque, Ani Cathedral, Virgins Monastery, and Apostles Church in the ruins of Ani, which are on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Then, we will arrive in Erzurum and take a lunch break featuring Çağ Kebab and stuffed Kadayıf, which are local flavours of Erzurum. Later, after the trip to Nene Hatun Bastion, Double Minaret Madrasa, Ulu Mosque, Üç Kumbetler, Yakutiye Madrasa, Erzurum Congress, and the National Struggle Museum.

Domestic Flight ticket information
We strive to provide our valued guests with the utmost comfort during intercity travels over long distances by arranging direct flights whenever possible. This ensures that no time is lost during flight transfers at the Istanbul airport. However, please be aware that direct flights between Cappadocia and Ephesus and Cappadocia and Antalya are only available on specific days of the week from May to October. Daily direct flights are not available. You may need to adjust your start dates by 1-2 days to accommodate these direct flight schedules. If this is not possible, we may need to include a connecting flight to Istanbul to complete the tour. Any necessary changes to the tour plan can be made by providing passenger information.


Flight ticket group reservation policy
Please note that flight ticket prices included in tour packages are only valid for individual passengers. If you are travelling in a group, it is recommended that you purchase your tickets well in advance to avoid any significant price increases. For domestic flights, such as Istanbul to Cappadocia, booking your group tickets at least 2-3 months before your trip is best. Failure to do so may result in limited availability and higher prices. Once your group reservation is confirmed, you must pay 30% of the ticket price within 2 days to secure your booking. The airline company may cancel your group request and ticket prices if payment is not received within this timeframe.

Regular Group Tours are English-guided package tours with mixed nationalities of a minimum of 20 people and a maximum of 40 people on the specified dates. Regular Group tour prices are fixed.
There is a child age restriction based on the character of the tour and generally, children under 8 years of age cannot participate.
Private Tours, on the other hand, is between 1 person and 40 people. It usually consists of small and private groups such as Families, groups of friends, or professional groups.
