Arrive at Adana Airport with an early morning flight from Istanbul, Izmir, or Ankara. You will meet our tour guide at the airport and go to a local restaurant for a rich breakfast consisting of local delicacies before our Tarsus tour.
Tarsus has a very old and rich history and is an important city in terms of religious beliefs. It is believed that the cave where the Ashâb-ı Kehf (Seven Sleepers or Companions of Cave) mentioned in the Qur'an is located in Tarsus. One of the 12 apostles of Jesus, Paul was born in Tarsus. According to Acts, Paul was born as “Saul of Tarsus”, but was brought up in Jerusalem and became “Paul the Apostle” after his encounter with Christ. Well of St. Paul and Saint Paul's Church, which are considered Christian pilgrimage sites are also located here. Saint Paul's Church is also the second most important church after the Church of the Holy Sepulchre (also called the Church of the Resurrection) in Jerusalem. On its ceiling, there are frescos of Jesus in the middle and Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John on the two sides. The sites we will visit in Tarsus are St. Paul’s Church, Well of St. Paul, Tarsus Waterfall, Tarsus Grand Mosque, Kırkkaşık Bedesten, Historic Tarsus Houses, Roman Road, and Cilician Triumphal Arch, Gate of Cleopatra, Seven Sleepers Cave, and Shahmeran Hammam respectively.
After our visits, we will have a lunch break and continue our tour with the Stone Bridge, Old Clock Tower, the Small Clock, Sabancı Mosque, Kazancılar Bazaar, Bebekli Church, and Seyhan dam lake.
At the end of the tour, we’ll arrive at our hotel and check-in.

Church of Saint Peter – Hatay Archeology Museum – St. Paul Orthodox Church – Antioch Protestant Church – Habib-i Nejjar Mosque
After an early breakfast in Adana, we will depart for Hatay (approx. 200 km - 3 hrs). Crossing beyond the Amanos Mountains, currently called as Nur Mountains, and passing through the fertile Amik plain and Iskenderun, we will arrive at Antakya, the city of ancient civilizations. First, we will visit the Hatay Archeology Museum, the second richest mosaic museum in the world. Here, we’ll see mosaics, the Sculpture of King Suppiluliuma, and the Antakya Sarcophagus among many other wonderful works.
Afterward, we’ll give a lunch break and continue our visits with the Church of Saint Peter, known as one of the oldest churches in the history of Christianity, where Christians were first named. It is an important place of pilgrimage for Christians and the Feast of St. Peter takes place on June 29 every year.
Next, we will wander through the authentic and interesting narrow streets of Antakya. We will visit the Habib-i Nejjar Mosque, known as the first mosque built in Anatolia, built on a pagan temple in the Roman period, the Antakya Catholic Church, and Sarimiye Mosque, which stand almost adjacent to each other, the St. Paul Orthodox Church, and the Antioch Protestant Church.
At the end of our visits, we’ll have free time for shopping at the historic Long Bazaar.
Dinner and accommodation in Hatay. (Breakfast – Dinner )
After breakfast, we will depart for Samandağ, believed to be the place where Prophet Moses and Khidr met. Our first stop will be the Moses Tree, and the only Armenian village in Turkey, Vakıflı village. Afterward, we will visit the Surp Asdvadzadzin Church and have free time in the village bazaar. Next, we will visit a holy place of great importance for Muslims and Christians, Khidr’s Tomb (Hz. Hızır Türbesi). We will visit the Cradle Cave Rock Tombs and the 1,380-meter-long, 7-meter-high, and 6-meter-wide Vespasianus Titus Tunnel which was carved by slaves to protect the city from floods in the 1st century BC during the Roman period.
Afterward, we will give a lunch break in Samandağ and see the Monastery of St. Simeon, which was built 1400 years ago by St. Simeon, the founder of the Stylites Sect, who lived in seclusion for 45 years on a 10-meter-long stone. His church is one of the major early Christian pilgrimage sites. At the end of the tour, we will return to Hatay and private transfer to Hatay Airport. ( Breakfast )
