Turkey Women's Tour - 8 Days/7 Nights

Upon landing, you will be greeted by our representative holding a sign with your group name on it at Izmir Airport. You will be transferred to your hotel located at the heart of Izmir in the middle of the best shopping districts. After a little rest at the hotel, you can start wandering around the shops in the Alsancak region. Here, you can find stores of international brands and shops selling shoes, leather bags, men's and women's clothes, jewelry, etc.  Dinner and accommodation in Izmir hotel. (Dinner)

After breakfast, we’ll depart at 08:15 for Ephesus ancient city. In this ancient city, which was once the greatest settlement of the Ionia region, we’ll see the Harbor Street, the Marble Street, Grand Theater with a capacity of 25,000, the Hercules Gate, the famous Celsus Library, Temple of Hadrian, the Ephesus Prytaneion, the State Agora, and Odeon. Our next stop will be the House of the Virgin Mary, where the mother of Jesus Christ spent her last years. This place is visited by thousands of Christian pilgrims from all over the world every year.
Afterward, we will have lunch at a local restaurant and visit the Temple of Artemis, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. At the end of the tour, we’ll make a stop at a leather fabric outlet and continue on our way to the beautiful resort town of Marmaris (approx. 220 km-3 hrs). Dinner and accommodation in a Marmaris. Today we are going on an adventure where we’ll have both a Jeep Safari and a Boat Tour. For this day, don’t forget to bring a windbreaker, hat, goggles for the jeep safari, and swimsuits and towel for swimming with you. 

After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your hotel at 09:30 and our adventure will start at 10:00. Marmaris is a famous holiday center known for its green forests, sparkling coves, and magnificent natural beauty. During our safari, we’ll climb high up in the forest, giving short breaks in the villages on our way, learning about life in these villages. At the end of our safari, we’ll descend to sea level and arrive at the Çamlıköy pier. From here, we will board the boat waiting for us. Shortly after disembarking, we’ll give a swimming break in a bay and after having lunch on the boat, we will head to the famous Sedir Island and swim here. Afterward, we will return to the pier and get on the jeeps again and return to Marmaris through a different forest road.

Upon our arrival, we’ll head for the Turkish Bath to clean the dust and salt of the day. Once you are in the hammam, you’ll first rest at the navel stone and sweat out for your skin to get soft. Afterward, the masseurs will start the soaping, scrubbing, and massaging process to remove the dead skin. (Special oil massages cost extra.) After this fun and relaxing bath that will take about 1.5 - 2 hours, we will return to our hotel feeling lighter.

Today after breakfast, we will check-out and depart from Marmaris to Dalyan, so keep your swimsuits and towels ready. From Dalyan, we’ll board a boat for the İztuzu beach, which forms a natural border between the lake and the sea, where the freshwater meets with saltwater. On our way there, we’ll pass through the channels spotted with reeds, and see the magnificent rock tombs carved into the steep slopes for the kings and nobles of the ancient city of Kaunos. If you happen to be here during June and July, you can see the newly hatched baby Caretta caretta sea turtles on the beach. After a swimming break at the beach, we will take a mud bath in the mineral-rich Thermal Spa, which was also being used by the people of Kaunos two thousand years ago. ​

Our next stop will be Fethiye, one of the important touristic centers of Turkey. Upon arrival, we’ll have lunch at a local restaurant and visit Amyntas Rock tombs and Kayaköy, an old Greek village. Kayaköy was entirely evacuated with the migration of the village inhabitants to Greece and turned into a quiet ghost village remaining in its untouched state. As you wander around in Kayaköy, it will be hard not to imagine and feel the sorrow of people who were removed from their homes.

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll check out and have a short trip to Xanthos, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site located 40 km away. Xanthos, the first capital of the Lydian civilization, was once burnt down by Alexander the Great and was rebuilt later. Here, we’ll see the city walls, acropolis, churches, baths, theater structures, and the world-renowned Lydian sarcophagi. In 1842, the Harpy Tomb, Nereid Monument, and the Tomb of Payava were smuggled to England by the British, and they are still exhibited in the British Museum.

We will continue our tour with a visit to Patara, which was the capital of Lydia during the Roman period after Alexander the Great.

The port city of Patara, which has an 18 km-long sand beach, is home to a magnificent ancient theater and the world's first parliament building (still in use). The ancient theatre, triumphal arches, boulevard, bath, granary, and the oldest lighthouse in history are among the places we will see here.

After our Patara visit, we will have a lunch break at a local restaurant, and enjoy swimming at the 18 km-long Patara beach. Besides being a popular holidaying spot, Patara is also a spawning area of ​​Caretta caretta sea turtles, which makes it an environmental protection area.

Afterward, we will head to Kaş, the most popular holiday destination in the Mediterranean. After dinner, we will spend a beautiful Mediterranean evening at the bars on the beach in Kaş, which is built on the ancient city Antiphellos, one of the important cities of the Lycian civilization.

Today, we will continue our tour among the most beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean and historical cities aged thousands of years. Our first stop will be the ancient city of Simena (Kaleköy) a small Lycian coastal city, dating back to the 4th century BC. The remains of the Simena Castle which overlooks the entire region from atop a hill consists of a theater carved into the rock inside the castle with a seating capacity of 300 people. From here, we will enjoy the fascinating view of Kekova and the surroundings of the castle. The vast blue of the Mediterranean, the sarcophagi scattered around, goats walking around freely and hundreds of years old olive trees in the area will take you to the past immediately. The rock tombs and sarcophagi in the necropolis, 200 meters from the castle, are impressive.

After our visit, we will board a boat in the harbor and sail to the sunken city of Kekova. The northern shores of Kekova Island are full of traces of civilization that was completely or partially submerged in the earthquakes in ancient times. These include stone stairs, half in the water and half outside, remains of houses, and other stone structures standing 3-5 meters deep under the sea. Here, we will give a swimming break and enjoy this beautiful atmosphere among the amphorae of the sunken city. (It is forbidden to remove amphoras underwater). After lunch on the boat, we will head for the ancient city of Myra. It is said that St. Paul boarded a ship from Myra Port on his way to Europe for his 3rd missionary journey. After seeing this beautiful ancient Lycian city, famous for its rock tombs, we will set out for Pamukkale (approx. 360 ​​km, 4.5 hours)

After our arrival and check-in, we’ll have dinner and benefit from the thermal facilities of the thermal hotel.

After breakfast, we will start our tour in the ancient city of Hierapolis. Here, we’ll see the Martyrium of Apostle Philip, ancient city ruins including the Gate of Domitian, the Arcadian Way, Grand Theatre, the Nymphaion, the Temple of Apollo, the Plutonium, and the Necropolis. Afterward, you will be given free time to swim in the Ancient Cleopatra Pool (extra cost). Afterward, we’ll enjoy walking on the white travertines (white calcium pools) and taking beautiful pictures.

We’ll give a lunch break here and head for Izmir via Sardis (Salihli). On our way to Izmir, we’ll visit the ancient city of Sardis, the capital of the ancient Lydian Kingdom, which minted the first coin here in the 7th century BC. Upon our arrival to Izmir, we’ll have a sightseeing tour and visit the Kemeraltı Bazaar. You will have the opportunity to spend a nice evening in modern Izmir's Kordon area cafeterias.
