Upon your arrival, you will be met by our representative holding a sign with your name on it at Istanbul Airport then you’ll have a private transfer to your hotel. Today, the tour begins at 08:30 after breakfast. Our guide will meet you at the lobby area and we’ll start our exploration of Istanbul right away with the Byzantine and Ottoman relics. Our first stop will be the biggest basilica of Christianity, Hagia Sophia (Saint Sophia) which was built by the emperor Justinian in the 6th century AD as a church and was later converted into a mosque. Next, we’ll visit the Topkapı Palace, a giant walled complex that was home to many Ottoman sultans for over 420 years. Here, we’ll see the personal belongings of Ottoman Sultans and their treasures in Treasure House.
After our visit, we’ll have lunch in a local restaurant and continue with Blue Mosque, or the Sultanahmet Mosque, one of the masterpieces as a religious complex with a huge dome and 6 minarets. Built-in the 17th century, it takes its name from more than 20,000 blue Iznik tiles used for its interior decoration. Afterward, we will have a stroll in the historical Hippodrome Square, which was used as a meeting place and for chariot races during the Byzantine period. Here, we will see the Serpent Column brought from Delphi, the Egyptian Obelisk, and the German Fountain of Wilhelm ll. Finally, we will visit the Grand Bazaar, one of the oldest and biggest covered bazaars in the world with more than 4000 shops selling varieties of products and handmade items, jewelry, hand-knitted carpets, garments, leathers, and furs.
The tour will end here and we’ll return to the hotel. You will have until 19:30 to rest and refreshen and will be picked up for dinner on a Bosphorus Dinner Cruise from 20:00 to 24:00. All domestic alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks are free during dinner. You’ll be offered a rich dining menu and can opt for meat or fish dishes depending on your preference. The dinner will be accompanied by a DJ performance, Turkish Folk Dance, and Belly Dance shows. At the end of the night, you’ll be taken back to the hotel. Accommodation in Istanbul hotel. After breakfast, we will start our tour at 09:00 with a visit to the Spice Bazaar, also known as the Egyptian Bazaar in Eminönü Square against the beautiful scenery of Byzantium City Walls. Spice Bazaar is like a smaller version of the Grand Bazaar but offers a generous variety of products like spices, deserts, dried nuts, and fruits in an atmosphere reminiscent of the Ottoman times. Afterward, we will embark on a Bosphorus Cruise which will take us to journey along the Bosphorus Strait, which separates Europe and Asia and connects the Black Sea with the inland Marmara Sea. Some of the important landmarks you’ll see on this trip are the Dolmabahçe Palace, Çırağan Palace, Ortaköy Mosque, Kuleli Military School, Beylerbeyi Palace, Rumeli Fortress, beautiful historic wooden mansions as well as the Maiden Tower.
At the end of the cruise, we’ll have a lunch break and head for the Bosphorus Bridge to cross to the Asian side of Istanbul. Here, we will first visit the Beylerbeyi Palace, the summer mansion of Ottoman Sultans. This visit will be followed by a short trip to Çamlıca Hill to enjoy panoramic views of Istanbul.
