Greece and Turkey Tour 12 Days

12 days Greece and Turkey combined tour starts from Athens.  Arrive at Athens Airport, transfer to the hotel, and accommodation at your reserved hotel. You can explore Athens in your free time; may shop in the famous Plaka area and have a drink at the cafes nearby. Dinner and overnight in Athens. ( Dinner )

Today, we’ll start our local Athens tour after breakfast. If we are lucky, we can see the uniformed soldiers during the changing of the guard. We will proceed with a visit to the Church of Panagia Kapnikarea, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Old Royal Palace, and Hadrian's Arch in Adrianou Street and have lunch in an authentic Greek restaurant. Later, we will visit the Acropolis of Athens located on a hill, overlooking the whole city of Athens with the first known defense walls built in the 13th century BC by the Ancient Mycenaeans.

After breakfast, we will drive to Delphi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, 185 km from Athens. Located in a magnificent area with beautiful topography, Delphi has been the sacred place and religious worship center of the Hellenic World dedicated to Apollo for centuries. In the ancient city of Delphi, we’ll see the Temple of Apollo, known as the God of the sun, music, poetry, and healing, the Athenian Treasury, the Siphnian Treasury, the Kings of Argos, Omphalos (the stone placed in the center of the earth), the Altar of the Chiots, Delphi Ancient Theater, Delphi Stadium and thousands of years old masterpieces in the Delphi Museum.

Discover the wonderful Monastic Heritage of Meteora in Greece and the fascinating fairy chimneys of Cappadocia in Turkey.
We’ll depart for Kalambaka right after breakfast, and drive for about four hours. After a lunch break in a local restaurant, we’ll continue with today’s excursion in Meteora which is known as one of the sacred sites of Christianity. Meteora is made up of several monasteries built on the top of a hill around the 11th century. The reason why they picked such an isolated location, as you might have guessed, was safety concerns. They didn’t have stairway access, but a lift system made of wood and thick tethers to carry people and goods up and down. We will finish this wonderful excursion with a visit to Holy Telis (Agia Triada) and Agios Nikolaos Anapafsas monasteries. We’ll also see any other available monasteries at the time of our visit in this breathtaking atmosphere. After our visits, we’ll head for our hotel in Kalambaka.

After breakfast, we’ll travel to Thessaloniki which is 250 km from Kalambaka. On the way, the first site we will visit is Vergina; the legendary and holy graveyard of the Macedonian Kings. The tomb of King Philip II, and the father of Alexander the Great, who had a great contribution to the development of Hellenism on the Greek lands, is located here. From here, we’ll continue on our way to Thessaloniki and have a lunch break at a Greek restaurant. After lunch, we will begin our exploration of Thessaloniki with its beautiful monuments and remains as the White Tower of Thessaloniki, Aristotelous Square, St. Sophia Church, Galerius Triumphal Arch, and Byzantium Castle. During St. Paul's second and third missionary journey, he did missionary work in Thessaloniki and wrote letters to the Thessalonians.

After breakfast, we’ll have to transfer to Thessaloniki Airport for your flight to Istanbul and then to your connecting flight to Kayseri or Nevşehir Airport. As soon as the passport controls are over, we’ll head to a local restaurant for lunch, and transfer to our hotel in Cappadocia. After check-in, you’ll be free the rest of the day in this magical land that looks like a fairy tale.

After breakfast, visit the Uçhisar Castle, situated at the highest hill of Cappadocia, shaped by flowing volcanic lavas. Uchisar castle history, you learn from your guide how this fantastic landscape came into existence. Next visit the Göreme Open air museum The UNESCO World Heritage site contains rock-cut churches and monastic complexes. Göreme Open Air Museum, which is home to dozens of monasteries carved into the rocks, such as the Dark Church, Apple Church, Serpentine Church, and Saint Barbara Church. Paşabağı Valley. Some of the mushroom-shaped rock formations here are several meters high. Fairy chimneys shaped by erosion for many years were used as houses by various religious groups, therefore it is also known as the Monks Valley. Next, and a short trip to Devrent Valley of beautiful rock formations that resemble various animals.  
We’ll have a lunch break at a local restaurant in Avanos. And visit the Pottery atelier, In the Avanos region, B.C. The raw material for pottery making, which dates back to 2000 BC, that is, to the Hittite period, is the mud of the Kızılırmak River. Handcrafted ceramics made with special techniques are world-famous.
Visit Pigeon Valley is named after the wild pigeons living in the region from their nests in the volcanic rocks. In fact, the farmers in the region carve these rocks and make unique nests for the pigeons, then collect the pigeon manure and use it in agriculture. We’ll finish our tour with a scenic trip to our hotel.

Today starts with a fine breakfast we will visit Kaymaklı Underground City, an amazing underground complex featuring fascinating tunnels, dwellings, and storage rooms, built and carved by Christians in the underground to be used for protection against attacks, particularly by Roman Soldiers in the early days of Christianity. Afterward, we will visit Mustafapaşa Village formerly known as Sinasos, where Orthodox Greeks and Turks used to live together. Here we will see madrasahs, churches, Greek mansions, and many other buildings dating back centuries. Later we will see the Keşlik Monastery and take a lunch break at a local restaurant. Afterward,  those who are curious about traditional Turkish Arts and the influences on Silk Road commerce may visit the Carpet Center to see hand-knitted rugs.

This morning, we’ll have the last chance to enjoy the views of beautiful Cappadocia from our hotel since we must leave for the Istanbul flight after breakfast. We’ll transfer to Kayseri or Nevşehir airport for our flight and upon arrival, we’ll have our transfer to our hotel in Istanbul. Discover Istanbul yourselves  Transfer from the hotel to the Boat at 19:30 meeting in the hotel lobby.

After breakfast, at 09:00 we’ll start our tour of Istanbul, the only city that spans two continents, which makes it impossible to discover in a few days, but we will do our best to show you the best of the city within the limited time we have. First, we will visit the biggest basilica of Christianity, Hagia Sofia (Saint Sophia) which was built by the emperor Justinian I in the 6th century AD as a church and was later converted into a mosque. Next, we will visit the Topkapı Palace which was home to Ottoman emperors for more than 420 years. After our visit, we’ll have lunch in a local restaurant and continue our tour with the Hippodrome Square which was used as a meeting place and for chariot races during the Byzantine and Roman periods. Here, we will see the Serpent Column brought from Delphi, the Egyptian Obelisk, and the German Fountain of Wilhelm ll. Next is the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Mosque) which is one of the masterpieces Architect by Sedefkar Mehmet Aga, known for its blue tiles and six minarets.
Finally, we will visit Grand Bazaar ( Kapalıçarşı) which is one of the biggest and oldest markets in the world, home to more than 4000 shops full of hidden treasures and authentic items such as handmade goods, jewelry, hand-knitted carpets, garments, leathers, and furs.

fter breakfast, we will set out towards the pier where we will go to the Prince Islands, a chain of islands famous for their natural beauty, beaches, historical mansions, and traditional wooden houses that have been very popular since the Eastern Roman Empire. . During this magnificent journey, we will see Topkapı Palace, Maiden's Tower, Haydarpaşa Train Station, and many other historical buildings. The inhabitants of the islands are at least as diverse as Istanbul; minorities, celebrities, royalty, etc. Hagia Yorgi Church, which is considered the largest wooden structure in Europe and the second largest in the world, and Büyükada Greek Orphanage are in Büyükada. 
After a nice walk in the Forest, among the Magnificent architecture Wooden Mansions, and Villas, we will have lunch in an authentic restaurant with fish caught by local fishermen. Our tour will end with our return transfer to the hotel.

Cancellation Policy

- For cancellations made 60 days before the tour, 100% refund. (Except per person 175 € for register, bank commission, and domestic flight ticket cost)
- For cancellations made 59 - 45 days before the tour, 50% refund. (Except for the Bank Commission)
- For cancellations made 44 - 22 days before the tour, 20 % refund.
- No refunds will be made on reservations made 21 days before the tour. %100 Penalty is applied.

Remarks
- Please note that it is mandatory to have travel health insurance.
- Our team confirms the availability of the selected hotels on the date of booking. However, in case they are not available, we will book similar hotels for your stay.
- The guide may make changes to the tour program due to bad weather, traffic jams, or similar situations.
- In case any location in the itinerary is closed, we will make arrangements to visit other places.
- During the tours, you will be walking approximately 2 km every day on uneven and cobblestone surfaces, inclines, and steps.
- It is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing, flat walking shoes, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen during the summer months. In winter, please bring a raincoat, warm clothes, winter walking shoes, an umbrella, etc. to stay comfortable.
- When visiting religious places like churches, mosques, and cathedrals, it is recommended to wear plain clothing, including closed and long skirts
- The order of the sites visited may change to avoid crowds.
- Please ensure to carry your passport for all domestic flights. Domestic flights are economy class, and the luggage limit is 15 Kg.

Domestic Flight ticket information
We strive to provide our valued guests with the utmost comfort during intercity travels over long distances by arranging direct flights whenever possible. This ensures that no time is lost during flight transfers at the Istanbul airport. However, please be aware that direct flights between Cappadocia and Ephesus, as well as Cappadocia and Antalya, are only available on specific days of the week from May to October. Daily direct flights are not available. To accommodate these direct flight schedules, you may need to adjust your start dates by 1-2 days. If this is not possible, we may need to include a connecting flight to Istanbul to complete the tour. Any necessary changes to the tour plan can be made by providing passenger information.


Flight ticket group reservation policy            
Please note that flight ticket prices included in tour packages are only valid for individual passengers. If you are traveling in a group, it is recommended that you purchase your tickets well in advance to avoid any significant price increases. For domestic flights, such as Istanbul to Cappadocia, it is best to book your group tickets at least 2-3 months prior to your trip. Failure to do so may result in limited availability and higher prices. Once your group reservation is confirmed, you must pay 30% of the total ticket price within 2 days to secure your booking. If payment is not received within this timeframe, your group request and ticket prices may be canceled by the airline company.

Regular Group Tours are English-guided package tours with mixed nationalities of a minimum of 20 people and a maximum of 40 people on the specified dates. Regular Group tour prices are fixed.
There is a child age restriction based on the character of the tour and generally, children under 8 years of age cannot participate.
Private Tours, on the other hand, is between 1 person and 40 people. It usually consists of small and private groups such as Families, groups of friends, or professional groups. No other travelers are allowed in Private groups. In private tours, the guide is given according to the group's request (available in Turkey) 
Guaranty Departure Tours have a definite departure regardless of the number of people on certain dates. 
The minimum and the maximum number of people and child age requirements are specified in the tour information.

The number of tour places varies according to the theme of the tour. Group tours are a minimum of 20 people - a maximum of 40 people. There is no limit on the number of private tours, usually between 1 and 18 people.

You can bring clothes and auxiliary items according to Turkey Tour regions and Tour season. During the winter seasons, you should bring thick and cold protective clothing and rain protective clothing.
Items such as clothes and umbrellas are required against rains that may occur in Spring and Autumn. In summer, have sunglasses, sunhat, comfortable walking shoes, swimming clothes, and equipment in lake and seashore tour programs.

Tour payments are made by money transfer systems such as bank transfer or Western Union.

Visitors can withdraw money in Turkish Lira, Euro, and US Dollars with their bank cards from ATMs in Turkey. Most ATMs offer English or other language options for foreigners' convenience.

Visitors can use their credit and debit cards for all kinds of shopping. During the tour, you can travel to smaller towns or villages far from the city center, where your credit card may not be valid, so it is recommended to always have cash, foreign currency, and Turkish Lira with you.

Two-pin sockets used in Europe are also widely used in Turkey.
If you are using a three-pin socket, it is recommended to bring a converter adapter.

If you want to use your own country's GSM operator in Turkey, you should ask your GSM operator to activate the international roaming function of your mobile phone before coming to Turkey. Or you can get a new SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card from one of the local GSM operators such as Türk Telekom, Vodafone, to use while you are in Turkey.

Foreigners in Turkey can drive in Turkey, provided that they always have their passports, international driving licenses, and their car licenses with them. It is legally forbidden to drink and drive and there are penalties. In Turkey, the vehicle is driven on the right side of the road.
