It is rumoured to be the birthplace of Prophet Abraham, regarded as the "ancestor of the prophets" and the prophets of Prophet Eyyüp, Prophet Elyasa, and Hazrat Şuayp. It comes after Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem in faith tourism.

In Şanlıurfa, which stands out with its cultural values as well as religious tourism, the most popular attraction is Balıklıgöl, the place where Prophet Abraham, who is identified with the city and is considered the ancestor of three divine religions, was born and where he was thrown into the fire.
The places we will see and visit here include Halil-ur Rahman Mosque, Rizvaniye Mosque, Balıklı Göl,  Ayn-el Zeliha Lake, and the pit where the Prophet Abraham was thrown into the fire.

There are many ancient temple ruins in the Taş Tepeler region, where Göbeklitepe is located. One of them is Karahan Tepe, which has been determined to have a history older than Göbeklitepe during the ongoing archaeological excavations.
