Seven Churches of Revelations Tour - 5 Days/4 Nights

Early morning flight to Izmir Airport. Upon arrival, your guide will greet you with a welcome board with your name on it. Set in Akhisar, 1,5 hr., and visit the Thyatira Church ruins.

Thyatira, located in modern-day Akhisar, was one of the seven churches mentioned in Revelation (Rev. 2:18-29). In ancient times, it was a prosperous trade and craft centre.
The Thyatira Church mentioned in the Bible, Lydia, the first European convert to Christianity by Paul (Acts 16:14), is described as “a seller of purple from Thyatira.”  Today, only modest ruins remain — primarily parts of a Byzantine basilica — but the site remains significant as part of the Seven Churches of Asia Minor pilgrimage route.
Pergamon, along with its Acropolis, sacred areas, tumuli, and the Red Basilica, is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.  It was an important city in Roman Asia. Visit the Acropolis, the city’s administrative centre, the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Dionysus, the Temple of Athena, the Temple of Demeter, and the famous Pergamon Library, which housed 200,000 rolls. The Great Theatre of Pergamon is the world's steepest theatre, capable of entertaining up to 10,000 spectators in ancient times.
Overnight in Izmir  (Breakfast – Dinner)

Today, visit the ruins of ancient Smyrna, visit the Izmir Agora and St. Maria Church.
Smyrna Church, one of the Seven Churches where the Apostle John relays God's promise: “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life” (Rev 2:10).
Smyrna is the second city of the seven churches of the Book of Revelation to receive a message from St. John, which was specifically addressed to Smyrna. (Rev. 1:11;2:8), and known in the Bible as “The Persecuted Church” (Rev 2:8-11), mentioned as one of the Seven Churches in Asia Minor in the Book of Revelation.

Afterwards, continue to Salihli city (Sardis), the capital of the ancient Lydian kingdom of the 6th century B.C.,
Sardis was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List on 12 July 2025. Sardis is the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Lydia and the site of the world's first coin minting. The Church of Sardis, one of the seven churches mentioned in the Revelation, is located in that area. Visit the Great Temple of Artemis, the Temple of Cybele, which was converted into a Byzantine church, the Sardis Gymnasium, and the Synagogue among the archaeological remains of Sardis.
Sardes Church is one of the Seven Churches referred to in the Bible as “The Dead Church” (Rev 3:1-6). The biblical reference highlights the challenges faced by the early Christians and the need for revival and spiritual awakening within the congregation. As you tour the archaeological ruins of Sardis, you will gain new insight into the spiritual lessons conveyed in the Book of Revelation.

Arrival in Alaşehir and visit the remains of the Philadelphia Church.
Philadelphia Church, one of the Seven Churches of Revelation and today known as Alasehir, is referred to as the "Faithful Church" in the Bible (Rev. 3:7-13). Home to one of the Christian communities, Philadelphia is famous for its enduring, persistent and faithful historical and cultural significance. The biblical reference speaks to the congregation's unwavering commitment to their faith.
Overnight in a thermal hotel in Pamukkale. (Breakfast – Dinner)

The Laodicea church mentioned in the Revelation is in ancient Laodicea, 10 km away from Pamukkale.
After breakfast, we’ll start our tour in Pamukkale.
Pamukkale is a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE site. Pamukkale's white travertine terraces were formed over time as calcium carbonate from hot springs hardened. With their dazzling whiteness and stepped structure, travertines resemble a cotton pile. You can walk in the hot water pools and enjoy the natural thermal waters.

Hierapolis is one of the 12 Ionian cities. The city, which was once a renowned treatment centre due to its healing thermal waters, was recognised for its significant contributions to medicine, art, and scientific research.  Visit the Martyrium of the Apostle Philip, where he was martyred during the persecutions ordered by Domitian.
Necropolis, which contains the sarcophagi and monumental tombs of military heroes and influential people. The Ancient Theatre is an impressive example of Roman architecture, with a capacity of 12,000 people. Temple of Apollo, Hierapolis Archaeological Museum, Necropolis, one of the largest ancient cemeteries in Anatolia. Roman Baths, Agora, Frentirus Gate and street.
Lunch break at a restaurant, followed by a visit to Ladoicea, one of the Seven Churches of Asia Minor.

Laodicea Church is Highlighted as “The Lukewarm Church” in the Book of Revelation  [Rev. 1:11; 3:14; Col. 2:1; 4:13 - 16]. It thrived as a major centre of worship for the pagan goddess Aphrodite for about 500 years after Christ. The Christians of Laodicea were chastised for being lukewarm, "You are neither cold nor hot" (Rev. 3: 15), and for being too comfortable incorporating pagan and Christian beliefs. The famous scripture from Revelation (3: 20-21), said to the Laodicean Church: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock...".

Today, excavations continue in ancient Laodicea, uncovering an ancient city as beautiful as Ephesus, with ancient theatres, marble paths lined with columns, basilica ruins, antique stone water pipes, temples, an agora, and monumental fountains.
After a pleasant two-hour journey, we arrived in the popular holiday resort of Kuşadası.
Overnight in Kusadasi. (Breakfast – Dinner)

Today, visit Ancient Ephesus, 20 Km from Kusadasi. Ephesus has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 2015.  The ancient capital of Asia Minor is one of the best-preserved ancient Greek and Roman cities in the world. It is home to the Temple of Hadrian, the marvellous Celsus Library, the Temple of Trajan, the Grand Theatre (25.000 seats), the Agora, the Gymnasium, and the Terrace House (entrance extra).

Ephesus Church is highlighted as “The Loveless Church” (Rev 2:1-7) in the Book of Revelation. It is thought that the Gospel of John was written here. Apostle Paul preached to the Ephesians and lived there for three years. The Church of Ephesus also received an epistle from him. The First Council of Ephesus, held here in 431, declared Mary to be recognised as the "Mother of God" and constituted a decisive turning point in Christian doctrine.
Lunch break in a restaurant. And continue our visits.
The House of the Virgin Mary is a small, modest stone house situated in the forest on the side of a mountain, approximately 9 km from Ephesus.  St. John brought Mary to Ephesus, following Jesus Christ's advice to his mother (John 19:27). And she spent her last years in this house.
