After breakfast today, we begin our Antalya tour. The cities of Perge and Aspendos, located in the Pamphylia region, were among Anatolia's most prosperous and most beautiful during antiquity. First, we will explore the archaeological site of the Ancient Perge, which includes the ruins of the Perge Theatre, Agora, Roman baths, gymnasium, and Necropolis. Saint Paul and his companion, St. Barnabas, visited Perge twice during their missionary journeys.
Next, we will visit the magnificent Aspendos Theater, one of the best-preserved theatres of antiquity, where concerts and art events are still held today. Afterwards, we will head to Kursunlu Waterfall, which cascades from a height of 18 meters and connects various small ponds with charming cascades.
We stop for lunch at a local restaurant. After a sightseeing tour of Antalya, we will conclude our day.
Overnight stay in Antalya. (Breakfast - Dinner)
We will begin our journey with an early departure from Antalya to Cappadocia, approximately 550 km. Our route will take us through the stunning Taurus Mountains, offering breathtaking views of the Anatolian steppe. Along the way, we will stop at the Sultanhani Caravanserai in Aksaray, a historic site built in 1229 by the Anatolian Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad. This caravanserai was an essential refuge for ancient merchants travelling along the Silk Road, providing accommodation and safety for their caravans. After this beautiful journey, we will arrive in Cappadocia and check in at our hotel.
